Our farm stall is crammed with LOCAL PRODUCE from the surrounding farms. We strive to support local producers of everything from honey to chocolate, and preserves to berries. Going local helps to keep our offering SEASONAL and reduces the distance produce has to travel. In this why we do our bit for the environment.

Once in Elgin you’re guaranteed the juiciest, freshest APPLES and pears. Come and try our freshly squeezed, pure apple juice. With no additives or preservatives it’s an old-time healthy favourite.

Its early morning vigil ensures that age-old recipes are adhered to. Prior to your arrival shelves are laden with steaming fresh bread, mosbolletjies and a wide range of rusks, health loaves, and scrumptious cakes. Stone-ground sourdough breads are made using local unprocessed flour and a natural yeast starter. You’ll also find quiches, tarts, decadent pecan nut pies, and Chelsea buns.

Pies are prepared from scratch every day. You’ll find them beside an array of delicious sandwiches, ciabatta breads and baguettes. And if you’re a BILTONG lover, we urge you to try our homemade beef biltong or our diverse selection of game biltong and droe-wors (dried, spiced sausage).

Elgin has become the home of cool-climate wines and we’re proud to offer the most extensive range in the region. The artisanal craft of CIDER making has made a popular comeback. Peregrine has it’s own varietal which you’ll find on the shelves with other local pear and apple ciders.
